Our history

From over 40 years of experience, we know the requirements and needs of the banks, the IT and the BPO partners. We know the importance of the software as far as the operation is concerned. We know how the software can be operated in the most cost-effective way. And we know how the IT systems and software can be kept up to date.

Our roots

Our success story began in 1974 with the development of the 'FIS' software. In the early eighties, various banks joined forces in the FIS user bank pool. From this organisation, finis AG for banking software emerged in 1999, which developed an integrated modular solution for universal and private banks from scratch. This launch took place with a handful of customer banks and around 55 employees.

In autumn 2003, this mission was accomplished and finis became Finnova, which concentrated on the further development and marketing of its standard solution, the Finnova Banking Software. Only a few months later, the first banks opted for the new Finnova solution.

In summer 2005, the parallel operation of several banks on one single installation in a so-called multi-tenant tower was realised, which enabled further efficiency gains. Gradually, more and more banks have opted for the Finnova Banking Software, and the organisation has grown steadily. In order to be able to meet our customers' requirements also in the future, we have fundamentally transformed our organisation, operational methods, architecture and technology since 2013.

Finnova as the backbone of industrialisation

The architectural strength of the Finnova Banking Software enables its use in the industrialisation of complex banking processes today. This way, for example, our software forms the backbone of the banking processing centre of Swisscom.
